Juliane also helped coordinate a fabulous massage for me, cooked me great vegan tacos, made my stay easy, and her gratefulness and expansiveness is contagious! I ate at the little local restaurant right down the way and made friends there. The world is small but full of big kindness - this place celebrates that!

If you are... read more looking for a peaceful location, that feels safe and cozy with great views of Rio and don't mind a bit of a commute to get to the city (Getting an Uber was sometimes a bit of waiting game!) then this is the perfect spot for you. One thing to note is that while the apartment itself is your own private space, it is connected directly with the host's family home- so that needs to be taken into consideration. For me, this was ideal- I felt welcomed into Julianes home and her whole family (especially the dogs!) were extremely welcoming. I had a bit of a rough week in Rio, and Juliane went above and beyond to make sure I was comfortable despite the setbacks which I truly appreciate. While I myself am not vegan, her incredible vegan breakfasts blew me away- and were the best breakfasts I had in my time in Rio!

  This is not classic pay-per-sleep place. This is a place where you come as a stranger and leave as a friend. What makes difference are people. Juju and Ari have... read more wonderful family and they made harmonic and peaceful oasis, where you could be a part of it. They were always here for us, and help us in one very stressful situation. After a day spent in hectic jungle city of Rio it was perfect experience to drink beer and watch city lights from terrace, or to wake up in very soft comfortable bed in shadow of bamboo trees, or just to play with cute friendly dogs. Be surrounded by all those nature and wonderful people helped us to charge our batteries again. Only minus is that we couldnt stay longer. One advice for other guests: Bring your mosquito sprays, it could help a lot!

Juju has created a beautiful home... read more that offers guests a stunning and comfortable stay. You'll start your day by waking up to the sounds of the jungle and being greeted by the dogs. We recommend taking a cooking class; the Flavors of Brazil class was our favorite because we learned how history impacted the foods locals eat. The rest of the trip we could recognize dishes at restaurants and understand their origins. So cool! Juju made sure we had everything we needed and suggested amazing alternatives for when rain cancelled our plans. This enabled us to keep away from crowds, interact with locals, and see the city from a unique perspective. And soaking in the bath after a day of exploration was the perfect way to wind down for the night. Had a fab morning with Julianne and other guests grabbing some healthy breakfast in Santa Teresa before absorbing the sensory overload of a Carnival Blocco in full swing.   It really is a peaceful, safe, and comfortable place to lay your head at night. And the BATHTUUBB!! 😭🙌🏾 It was wonderful. Well worth the stay. Two things to be... read more aware of:
1) Coming in after the front entrance is locked. Make sure to take the plastic thingy off the key pad, or else it won’t work. It wasn’t in the instructions so I had to bang on the door. 😬 Sorry.
2) When Ubering, copy and paste the address from airbnb app into Uber. Apparently, there are different neighborhoods that have the same address. Remember what the front of house looks like to help guide your drivers to the right place. Could never pinpoint the exact location.
Otherwise, fantastic place to stay.

Le loft est splendide….. rien à dire, la vue est à couper le souffle, les équipements sont parfait, la décoration est parfaitement pensée, la salle de bain est unique est l’emplacement est parfait. Le petit déjeuner est excrément bon et complet,( parfois un peu trop, une sieste sera nécessaire pour terminer) vous serez surpris du pouvoir du vegan. Enfin, c’est un gros coup de cœur pour Juliane et ariel, leur personnalité rajoute un charme à la maison, ils répondent dans des temps records, vous laisse votre intimité, sont extrêmement gentils et je suis sur qu’ils sauront parler votre langue quelques soit. The Loft is hugely spacious and stylishly decorated, set up above Rio in the lush and peaceful green area of Santa Teresa.

The only downside was we felt slightly stranded as sometimes taxis and Ubers were difficult to order and a bit disappointed that the swimming pool was out of action. However, everything else made up for this.
